The Eastern Analytical Symposium and Exposition is held each year to provide professional scientists and students continuing education in the analytical and allied sciences through the presentation of symposia of papers, workshops, and short courses. In addition, an exposition of apparatus and supplies allied to these sciences is held concurrent with the symposia. EAS will be held November 12-15,2007 at the Garden State Convention Center and hotel complex in Somerset, New Jersey. Answers to the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) are now available and General Information (PDF).

Technical Program
The technical program at EAS has continuously demonstrated an excellence in quality. With over 600 invited and contributed papers, you will find presentations on: pharmaceutical analysis, art conservation, analytical chemistry education, food analysis, chemometrics, sample preparation, process analysis, forensic analysis, validation, and regulatory topics. In the technology arena are topics like: CE, GC, LC, near-IR ,mid-IR, Raman spectroscopy, NMR, mass spectrometry, spectroscopy, microscopy, and Sensors. The program emphasizes presentations that are on cutting edge science and relate to real problems faced by scientists in all fields.

Short Courses
EAS Short Courses emphasize practical and economical problem solving topics which will include material that you can take home and immediately apply to your daily work. We have kept many of the 'most requested' courses from last year and have added some new ones which we feel will be timely this year and useful beyond. We take seriously the suggestions of former students and potential students and use their inputs to modify ongoing courses and to prepare new ones.

Workshops
The EAS Exhibitor Workshops offer a unique link between the vendor exhibit and the technical session: a detailed and specific interchange of problems and solutions. Each Workshop features lectures, demonstrations, and/or hands-on experience presented by speakers from exhibiting companies. Workshops are each a half a day long. Topics include:

Workshop E2007-W01 Developing Better HPLC Methods
Organized by Carl Zimmerman, Mac-Mod Analytical

Workshop E2007-W02 Fundamentals of Water Activity
Organized by Anthony J. Fontana, Jr., Decagon Devices, Inc.

Workshop E2007-W03 Advances in FTIR and Raman Spectroscopic Techniques
    Organized by Thomas Porro, Consultant

Workshop E2007-W04 Making the Most of Your HPLC Detector – Advanced Strategies
    Cancelled

Workshop E2007-W05 Automating HPLC/SFC Method Development and Prep Chromatography,
Organized by Gary Yanik, PDR-Chiral, Inc.

Workshop E2007-W06 Fundamentals and Current Practices of LC-MS
Organized by Douglas Wittmer, Waters Corporation

Workshop E2007-W07 Recent Developments in Chiral Separations

Exposition
The
235+ exhibitors (325 booths) at EAS provide the scientist with a convenient single location to find out about new equipment, services, and technologies. Meeting and discussing a vendor's product can make all the difference. EAS consistently provides high booth traffic and the high quality leads. Participation by vendors in all aspects of EAS - booths, papers, short courses, and workshops - benefits not only the conferees, but the exhibitors as well. Exhibitors and attendees recognize that good science = quality leads = the best possible Exposition. Don't forget to participate in all aspects of the Exposition!
