Torchia<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Session Date<\/strong>:\u00a0 Wednesday, November 20, in the afternoon session<\/span><br class=\"none\" \/><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Presentation Title<\/strong>:\u00a0 <em>NMR in Structural Biology: Synergy of Solid- and Solution-State Approaches\u00a0 <br class=\"none\" \/><\/em>Sponsored by Bruker Biospin and New Era Enterprises<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Biography:<\/strong>\u00a0 <br class=\"none\" \/>Dennis Torchia received his respective B.A. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the University of California, Riverside and Yale University.\u00a0 Following postdoctoral training in biophysics at the Harvard Medical School, with Elkan Blout, he began NMR work at Bell Laboratories, with Frank Bovey. In 1971, Dr. Torchia joined the staff of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and then moved to the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, NIH, in 1974. In 2006 he assumed his present position as Emeritus Scientist in the NIDCR.
