Message from the Program Chair
The Eastern Analytical Symposium has been a center of innovative science and practical solutions for the analytical community for greater than 50 years. The symposium offers a wonderful opportunity to present and hear a diverse scientific program dedicated to analytical sciences. This coming November we are presenting a program focused on Analytical in Motion: Knowledge, Network, and Career. We have implemented a few changes for the 2013 meeting that I am excited to share with you.
Plenary Lecture: Monday afternoon our 2013 Field’s award winner Dr. Irving Wainer from the National Institute on Aging/NIH is presenting a general interest presentation entitled: When Someone Says “Everybody Knows That …” Stop Listening! Adventures in Basic and Translational Research. We are encouraging all EAS participants to attend and have structured the schedule to allow for full participation. There will be a time of networking with refreshments to follow and opportunity for the EAS to come together as a community regardless of our individual specialties. I highly encourage you to attend this thought-provoking presentation.
Poster Sessions: We have changed the layout of the exposition center to make the poster sessions more interactive and visible. The posters are being relocated to a larger space in the center of the exhibit hall and will remain up throughout the day. Authors will be present at their poster for a specified period to encourage scientific discussion.
Finally I want to thank everyone who submitted abstracts for the technical program. Your dedication to innovative science and a desire to interact with the greater analytical community will make this year’s technical program a success.
