The EAS Board of Directors is watching the progression and impact of COVID-19 closely. At this time, EAS still plans to hold our annual symposium scheduled in November 2020.
We remain committed to providing our community with safe spaces in which to collaborate. We are following the guidance offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization and every precaution is being taken to ensure the health and safety of our volunteers, speakers, attendees, and partners. Should actions taken by a federal, state, or local authority impose restrictions that make it impossible to provide the level of scientific interaction expected by our attendees, the Board of Directors will cancel the event. In the instance that the event it canceled, EAS will notify our vendors, speakers, and attendees, will reimburse all paid registrations, and will work with sponsors to apply their investment toward the 2021 Symposium.
Although our symposium is still eight months away, all the planning activities to make it a successful symposium are moving forward at full speed. The abstract submission site is open and invited speakers are being confirmed. This fall’s EAS Symposium will be a great opportunity to showcase your work and to exchange experiences with fellow researchers.
